Spotify Canvas, which allows songs on Spotify to feature a 3-8 second looping video instead of static album art, is now fully accessible to all artists that use Create Music Group or Label Engine to distribute music. Previously, this feature was only available to selected artists.
Looping, dynamic visuals is a great branding tool. Canvas has shown to consistently drive key performance metrics including shares, streams, adds to user playlists, and visits on the artist profile page.
The videos will be in a vertical format, it must be in a 9:16 ratio and at least 720px tall. You can change the Canvas of any track any time, which provides additional opportunities to be interactive, or replace the video if it is not performing well. Each video will show a view count, found on your Spotify for Artists page. You must also ensure your video meets Spotify’s content policy, the content cannot be overly promotional or drive traffic away from Spotify. It should not promote other songs or unrelated albums, social media accounts, brands, discounts, contests.
